PHONE+ Names Channel Executive of the Year

PHONE+ magazine has announced the winner of its first-ever Channel Executive of the Year poll. TNCI President Brian Twomey won the award, which was announced Monday at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Las Vegas.
The finalists included John “J.D.” Baker, ACC Business; Dave Wallace, Cbeyond; Craig Schlagbaum, Level 3 Communications; Cody R. Calhoun, McGraw Communications; Chris Bantoft, PAETEC; Angelina Beitia, Premiere Global Services; J. Thomas McGrath, Qwest Communications International Inc.; Ken Bisnoff, TelePacific Communications; and Jim Delis, XO Communications.
“PHONE+ is pleased to provide a forum to honor those executives who provide exemplary leadership and service within the indirect channel,” said Mike Saxby, group publisher for PHONE+. “The nominees were all outstanding, creating a tight competition for this award.”
PHONE+ solicited nominations from channel partners for this honor.
To be eligible, a nominee must have been the top person in a telecom vendor’s channel operations – at the executive level of vice president or higher. Channel partners were then asked to vote for the Channel Executive of the Year based on nominees’ leadership, longevity, innovation and contribution to the indirect channel.
After receiving more than 30 nominations and more than 500 valid channel partner votes the 10 finalists emerged.
